Update on my friends' daughter:

Here is her update:

We're home and really tired. Ava is still having high resp rates (60 - 80 breathes per minute) and tachys, he sent her home. He is really scared she'll catch something in the hospital that will force him to do an emergency trach. It's safer to be home with a nurse checking on her than in a hospital setting with hundreds of sick people He would't let my DH leave last night untill he had been taught and tested on infant cpr. He changed her monitors settings and she will have home nursing. She isn't doing very well and he is talking of possible CPAP at home, and if she gets any worse, she will get a trach, no more chances!! He refuses to risk brain damage. He showed me the pics, during inhalation her airway is closed all the way, while on her back and stomach. It's as severe as it gets and has only gotten worse. The only thing saving her from a tracheotomy is her weight. He's done waiting for progress, this is the last straw before he does it. We are hoping she'll slide by.

Still sending numerous thoughts & prayers her way...
